A woman was killed and her three children were injured Thursday after she flipped her vehicle and crashed on U.S. Highway 59 in southwest Houston, officials said.

Officers around 1:45 a.m. responded to the crash, near the intersection of the highway and South Gessner Road, and found a woman under a vehicle, officials told Metro Video Services. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

One of her children, a 2-year-old child, was also ejected from the vehicle, but had minor injuries, officials said. Two other children remained inside the vehicle, with minor injuries. Preliminary investigation shows the woman had been driving and overcorrected her SUV before striking two signs and flipping the vehicle, officials said.
