The driver of a gray Dodge Journey, which was headed southbound, witnessed the driverless motorcycle pass by before making a fatal left turn into a private driveway that concluded with striking Evans, who was then lying in the road. Despite prompt response by Houston Fire Department paramedics, Evans was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Police say the 35-year-old female driver of the Dodge stayed right where the incident took place and cooperated with authorities. After a thorough assessment, it was determined she was not impaired in any way. She was allowed to go freely after questioning.
