New York Giants Have a Backfield Problem With No Easy Answer
Cam Skattebo's six-snap, zero-touch Saints outing leaves the Giants without a clear RB1 before Week 7 against the Houston Texans. The New York Giants are facing a significant challenge in their upcoming road game against the Houston Texans, with running back Cam Skattebo playing only six offensive snaps and receiving no touches in the loss to the New Orleans Saints. This comes after he was benched for a costly fumble against the Washington Commanders. The Giants’ starting running back was Najee Harris, who was released on Tuesday. The team needs a dependable early-down runner who can keep the offense on schedule and prevent the Texans from treating every possession as a passing situation. The pressure on the team increases as J.J. McCarthy is set to start, with Jameis Winston backing him up. Left tackle Andrew Thomas and right tackle Jermaine Eluemunor were limited in practice, potentially complacency if they cannot play.
