Teen struck by Dayton ISD bus driver in hit-and-run has died, father says
A teen who was struck by a Dayton ISD school bus driver who allegedly left him injured at the scene died on Thursday, according to his father. Brantley Conner, a 14-year-old boy who was hit by a Dayton ISD school bus driver, has died following a hit-and-run accident. The bus driver was arrested in connection with the accident, which injured a child on US Highway 90, according to police. The driver, Ricky Eugene Cherry, was driving the school bus with students aboard when he allegedly hit Brantley. Police said that Cherry left the scene without stopping to help and left Conner severely injured. Conner's injuries were so severe that he had to be flown to the hospital. The charges against Cherry have not been updated.
