Utah emerges as lone Big 12 unbeaten in CFP race after rallying past Houston
No. 9 Utah remained one of three unbeatens in college football's Bowl Subdivision after its come-from-behind defeat of No. 16 Houston. Utah has emerged as the lone Big 12 team still unbeaten in the CFP race after defeating Houston 21-13. The Utes scored 21 second-half points and erased a double-digit deficit in their comeback-win over Houston. Despite being ranked No. 9 in the US LBM Coaches Poll and entering the game without a win against a ranked opponent, Utah managed to maintain its undefeated start under first-year coach Morgan Scalley. The victory leaves Utah in sole possession of first place in the Big 12 Conference, with top-ranked Miami and No. 10 UCLA remaining unscathed. Conner Weigman threw for 282 yards for Houston, which entered the game ranked 16th and left in a five-way tie for second place in Big 12 standings.
