More than 19 million Texans are registered to vote ahead of midterm election
More than 19 million Texans are registered to vote ahead of the Nov. 3 midterm election. More than 19 million Texans are registered to vote for the Nov. 3 midterm election, a 2.2% increase over the Nov., 2024 general election and a 2% increase from March's primary election. Among the counties with the largest increase over two years, Brazos County saw a 10.3% increase in registered voters, Kaufman County's registrations grew by 10.2%, and Hays County saw an increase of 9.3%. This increase comes after nearly 500,000 voter registrations were left unprocessed due to a software error with the Texas Department of Public Safety's web portal. Despite the backlog being cleared, anyone registered before the Oct. 5 deadline could still vote, regardless of when application was processed.
