Texans Make RB Decision After David Montgomery News
Houston Texans running back David Montgomery has been ruled out against the New York Giants, potentially opening a major role for Woody Marks. The Houston Texans are beginning to turn their season around after starting the 2026 NFL season with a 2-4 loss against the Tennessee Titans and Jacksonville Jaguars. However, the team has been dealing with issues in the running game, particularly with running back David Montgomery, who has been ruled out for the second consecutive game due to a groin injury. The Texans will have just two running backs active against New York Giants, Woody Marks and Dare Ogunbowale, while not elevating practice squad running back Deuce Vaughn. This decision indicates the team is comfortable placing significant responsibility on Marks while Montgomery is sidelined. This will give Marks another opportunity to increase his workload.
