United Airlines unveiled Wednesday a $2.6 billion investment in its expanded Terminal B at George Bush Intercontinental Airport. United Airlines has completed a $2.6 billion expansion at George Bush International Airport (IAH) in Houston, with the opening of Terminal B. The expansion, funded primarily by the airline, includes 22 new gates, 105,000 square feet of dining and retail space, and the largest United Club in the airline’s global network. The new terminal will open to the public on October 22, doubling its capacity and can accommodate up to 35 million passengers annually. The project includes a 440,000-square-foot central building, three-level concourse, high-speed Starlink Wifi technology, children's play areas and a sensory room for those who need to step away from the noise. The airline has been capitalizing on Houston's position as an oil and gas hub since it absorbed Continental Airlines in 2010.
