Tesla's Robotaxi footprint grows in Houston
The rocket-shaped service map includes Montrose, Midtown and East Downtown. Tesla has expanded its robotaxi service across more of Houston, with cars previously operating in northwest Houston. The service now covers much of the 610 Loop and northwest Houston, including Montrose, Midtown and East Downtown. However, the northeast portion of the Loop remains outside its boundaries. The expanded service area resembles a rocket, prompting Tesla CEO Elon Musk to joke about the map's shape. Houston is becoming a hub for robotaxis, with Waymo operating there and Uber and Amazon testing their vehicles.
