The Huskies will open CCHA play against the Ferris State Bulldogs in Big Rapids this weekend. Coach Bill Muckalt praised his team's resolve and ability to fight back from a 2-1 deficit to win. The team's third-period comeback was attributed to sophomore defenseman Luke Shipley, who scored twice in the final frame. Despite this, Muckal noted that the team's depth will be tested again as sophomore forward Teydon Trembecky is likely to miss time due to injury.
