Defense lets Texans down again as season starts to slip away
The Houston Texans were supposed to be a Super Bowl contender in 2026, and their defense was supposed to be the biggest reason why. The Houston Texans' defense has let them down again this season, with a 27-21 overtime loss to the New York Giants, leading to a 2-5 record and near the bottom of the AFC playoff picture. The team's defense has been criticized for their inability to close out games late and hold on to leads, particularly in the biggest moments of the game. They allowed the Giants to rush for 188 yards and four players to score a touchdown, including four from Devin Singletary. This is not the first time the Texans have let down their defense.
