For the Yankees, they'll begin their season with a seven-game road trip against the Houston Astros and the reigning National League champion Arizona Diamondbacks before their home opener on Apr. 5 versus the Toronto Blue Jays.
Even with starters that include ace Gerrit Cole and infielder D.J. LeMahieu sidelined to start the year, expectations are still sky-high for the Bronx Bombers, who are coming off of a season where they missed the playoffs for the first time since 2016.
On the other side, the Astros came up a game short of their third straight World Series appearance last year in a Game 7 loss at the hands of eventual World Series champion Texas Rangers.
In 2023, the Yankees had plenty of success against the Astros, winning five of the seven meetings, including a sweep in Houston last September.
