Gina Hinojosa, the Democratic candidate for Texas governor, has held a campaign event in Montrose and the University of Houston. This is the fourth day in a row high-profile Democrats have been campaigning in Houston since early voting began. Hinozosa's first stop was a low-key meet-and-greet with voters at the West Gray Multi-Service Center in Montros, a popular polling place. She also addressed her plans to end the state takeover of Houston ISD and criticize Gov. Greg Abbott's relationship with Republican megadonors like Elon Musk. Hinjosa has made her opposition to school vouchers a staple of her campaign and plans to fire Texas Education Commissioner Mike Morath on her first day in office.
