$6,000 apartment rental lands Houston couple behind bars, officials say
The couple was arrested Tuesday on charges of engaging in organized criminal activity in connection with a scheme to lease homes and apartments using fake pay stubs and identities, according to authorities. A Houston couple, Felipe Andujar and Emily Galvez, have been arrested on charges of engaging in organized criminal activity related to a scheme to lease homes and apartments using fake pay stubs and identities. The scheme involved Galvez renting a unit at Elev8 downtown for more than $6,200 a month. When police searched the apartment in July, they found 13 guns, $51,000 in cash, and drugs. The investigation began in December after Rosemary Tucker was arrested on an organized criminal charge. The couple rented two properties using Tucker's services in 2023 and 2024. They also allegedly found clients to sublet properties from Tucker using fake identities.
