Photo of the Week: Houston Mobile Stroke Unit honors Dr. David Persse
Houston Fire Department and Memorial Hermann dedicated the city’s second Mobile Stroke Unit, equipped with CT scanning and telemedicine, in honor of the late Dr. David Persse The Houston Fire Department and Memorial Hermann have dedicated their second Mobile Stroke Unit to Dr. David Persse, marking the first municipal fire department in the nation to own and operate such a unit. The units, equipped with a mobile CT scanner and telemedicine technology, allow medical teams to begin stroke evaluations and consult specialists before patients reach the hospital. The ceremony was attended by Mayor John Whitmire, Rep. Al Green, Rep Lizzie Fletcher, and Council Member Joaquin Martinez.
